The highest peak in the continental U.S. cuts through the sky like the serrated edge of the knife of God. Mt. Whitney gleams at you from above a foreground of granite edifices which contrasts the soft, red glow reflected from the setting sun with the distant blue of the cloud-capped peaks above.
